Salad for Supper - UnderratedCreating a balanced supper - especially after a long hard day when cooking seems daunting - can be quite a challenge. Laziness, ease of making, comfort-foodness, healthiness, yumminess, and fun factory all play in our food choices. Especially if you are like us and prefer delicious food. (I have met one person in my life who did not "like" food. I can't trust him.)On a lazy night like tonight, salad for supper is what we are doing. The key to a good salad is 5 fold: crispy mixed greens, a good balance of veggies (tomato, cucumber, green pepper, corn), the proper amount of protein (20-30 grams for average person like one chicken breast or half a pack of tofu), hearst of palm (of course), and awesome salad dressing.Speaking of which @grandmasgourmetdressing makes an amazing Garlic Dressing. To try to save our little business we offered FREE SHIPPING on local deliveries for 2 bottles (the coupon code MTLJETAIME2020 still works btw).We also committed to do these deliveries by bicycle whenever possible. The rationale for this decision was twofold:I needed to stay sane.We wanted to contribute to the only / unexpected COVID benefit RE: our collectively reduced carbon footprint.Now, 6 months later, here is the measurable effect of all the amazing support we have gotten from you - our customers - and some hard headed commitment to the above decision.On a similar route and corrected for the slight different in distance:Time has been reduced by 23%Average speed has increased 33% (Woah!)Average heart rate is now 13% higher. Bunless? Lettuce Wrap?Have to admit we don't hate bunless / lettuce wrap burgers. Sure, it is a little weird at first and definitely less "handy". The grip just isn't as good. Yes, an amazing bun is a great addition. But the reality is that most buns are boring and / or flavourless anyway. And when push comes to shove the patty is the star of the show. So yeah - we can go bunless if the patty is amazing (Habanero Maple mixed into patty is killer btw).So then we got thinking about what is critical on a great hamburger and here is our list: excellent patty, delicious cheese, crispy lettuce, juicy tomato, crispy kosher pickle, ketchup, and Sinai Gourmet hot sauce.Some welcome options: fried mushrooms, fried onion, mayo or Herbonnaise, and... well... if I must... b@%$n.Maybe bunless is the way to go! Une poignée d'abeilles vaut mieux qu'un sac de mouches.(proverbe algérien)Voici une dernière photo d'une petite série de 3 pour nos miels épices. Le miel est vraiment quelque chose de magique. C'est un produit qui dure une éternité et de plus à des propriétés médicinales et antibiotiques naturelles. De plus c’est un sucre santé qui goute tellement bon que nous ancêtres lui mettait de l’énorme valeur.Moi, ce que j’adore du miel c’est l’équipe qui ce forme entre l’apiculteur (ici on voit Dave) et son clan. L’équilibre qu’il trouve avec elles et la gentille poésie de leurs interactions. Un respect mutuel pour créer pour vous et pour moi LE MEILLEUR MIEL que je n’ai jamais gouté. Et ça je le répète sans honte ou hésitation : le miel de cette équipe est le meilleur que j’ai goute dans ma vie.Merci Dave. Merci les abeilles.
